Join Our Marker Pool - GCSE English Markers
Are you an experienced GCSE English teacher with previous public examination marking experience?
We are looking to expand our pool of qualified markers to support a range of educational assessment projects.
About the Role
As a marker, you will be responsible for marking learners' responses in line with a defined mark scheme and quality standards. Opportunities arise on a project-by-project basis and typically involve:
• Attending a paid project briefing/training session (depending on project requirements).
• Completing standardisation and quality assurance activities.
• Marking assessment scripts during an agreed marking window.
• Committing approximately 2-3 hours per day throughout the marking period, which may range from a couple of weeks to around a month.
What We're Looking For
To be considered for our marker pool, you must:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching GCSE English.
• Have previously marked for a recognised public examination board (for example, AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, WJEC).
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to apply mark schemes consistently.
• Be comfortable working to project deadlines and quality standards.
What We Offer
• Flexible, remote marking opportunities.
• The chance to contribute to high-quality educational assessment projects.
• Work that can fit around existing teaching or professional commitments.
• Competitive rates of pay, typically based on the number of scripts or items marked. Rates vary by project and will be shared when opportunities arise.
Joining our Associates pool does not guarantee work. Successful applicants will be added to our database and contacted when suitable projects become available.
There is no obligation to accept any project offered, and joining the pool does not commit you to undertaking future marking work.
