More details

We are looking to recruit test administrators to support delivery of confidential assessments in schools in England and Scotland. These assessments may be online or paper-based and using administrators enables us to reduce the burden on schools, maintain the security and confidentiality of the assessment content and maintain consistency in administration across schools.

You will receive training for each piece of work and detailed guidance on how to manage each administration, with access to FAQs and helpline support. You will be responsible for liaising with your allocated schools to make arrangements for the visit, delivering the administration and returning all materials securely to NFER.
All applicants must be qualified teachers and must not be on the barred teachers list or have any judgements pending. You may be required to provide a copy of your qualification certificate/letter.

The qualities that we require in a Test Administrator include the following:
• an essential understanding of the highly confidential nature of this work
• the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, tailoring your approach for pupils of different ages
• confidence, particularly in a school environment
• an understanding of the challenges that schools are facing as a result of the pandemic
• an understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion requirements
• good organisational and administrative skills
• computer literacy and aptitude to learn new technology/deliver online assessments (following training)
• a professional attitude to the work.

Work in England will take place primarily between 19 April and 6 May 2022, with the potential for some work in June. Work in Scotland will take place between 18 October and 9 December 2022. You must be available to make at least two to three school visits per week during these timeframes. You will normally be allocated schools within a reasonable distance of your home location, so that you can make the visit in one day. In a small number of cases, those Test Administrators who are willing to do so, may be asked to travel longer distances or to make an overnight stay.

The rate of pay can vary depending on the specific requirements of each administration but is usually between £100 and £150 for each school visit. We also pay a mileage allowance of 45 pence per mile.
