Salary: £30,000 - £40,000
Location: UK, monthly working from our office in Slough.
Job Type: 12 month fixed term contract.
Hours: 28-35 hours (as open to exploring part and full time working)

About the Role:
As a Researcher in Assessment at NFER, you will conduct a range of activities on various English assessment projects, including finding and developing reading texts, creating writing prompts, and writing content for paper-based and computer-based assessments. You will also contribute to the wider assessment and research activities of the Department, including business development and proposal writing.
Key Responsibilities:
· Contribute to different English assessment projects, including international projects (some overseas travel may be required).
· Design English research and assessment instruments.
· Conduct basic statistical analysis of assessment data.
· Assist in conducting and analysing quantitative and qualitative research.
· Contribute to project reports and other research outcomes.
· Take actions to ensure that assessment projects have an impact on learners, practitioners, or policy makers.
Requirements:
· A degree or equivalent in English or a relevant subject/combined subject.
· A teaching qualification.
· A background in secondary English teaching and assessment, including GCSE and A level.
· Basic knowledge and skills in assessment and research.
· Knowledge of the basic principles of project management.
· Ability to manage your own time and work to deadlines.
· Experience of work in UK schools.
· Good organisational and communication skills.
